Rejuvenate Your Soul

Day 1:  Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica, you will transfer to the Hotel Grano de Oro for overnight. Situated on a shady street just off Paseo Colón, San José's main thoroughfare, Hotel Grano de Oro is a true oasis, a sanctuary in the heart of the city.  Converted from a Tropical Victorian mansion, the hotel maintains the warmth and comfort of a private home. A rooftop terrace offers relaxing Jacuzzis and a spot for secluded sunbathing and stargazing. The restaurant is one of the most renowned in Costa Rica.

Day 2:  Pacuare River Whitewater Rafting (Class III-IV): Early morning pick-up from hotel and transfer to put-in point for breakfast and a brief safety talk before launching on an exhilarating 16-mile adventure! The Pacuare offers some of the best whitewater in the world – a quintessential tropical river that combines a beautiful ride deep into the virgin rainforest with pounding rapids. Enjoy the hidden waterfalls and densely vegetated gorges, which shelter an amazing array of wildlife including colorful butterflies, numerous species of birds, sloth, ocelots, monkeys and even jaguars. Paddle exciting rapids of the Upper and Lower Huacas, Cimarron, and Dos Montañas before take out where you will have a chance to clean up. Late afternoon return to San Jose and arrive Hotel Grano de Oro for overnight.

Day 3:   Today you will transfer by ground about 4 hours to the Arenal Volcano, known for its frequent eruptions, dramatic lava flows and incandescent rock explosions. Arrive at the Tabacón Grand Spa & Thermal Resortfor overnight. Now a member of leading hotel and spas of the world!  The hotel is part of the Tabacon Hot Springs Resort located across the street. The resort offers many pools heated by the thermal waters of the volcano, spa facilities, gourmet restaurant, and great views of the volcano on a clear night. In the evening observe the “fireworks” of vapor and lava.

Day 4:   Guided Arenal Hanging Bridges Walk:  Located within a corridor followed by birds migrating between North and South America, these trails and miraculous hanging bridges will bring you closer than you could imagine to an array of wild animals, birds, flowers and lush vegetation of the primary and secondary rainforest.  The bridges consist of 8 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges built with the latest techniques. They are designed with an eye for both beauty and safety. Overnight Tabacón Grand Spa & Thermal Resort.

Day 5:  Today, you will transfer by ground about 5 hours to Nosara on the Pacific CoastArrive at the Harmony Hotel for overnight (located on Playa Guiones).  Inspired by the old school tropical destinations of eras that appreciated relaxed glamour and total escape, the harmony is the perfect setting for people to get in tune with their natural rhythm.  This eco-friendly lodge is just steps away from the beach and one of the best surfing breaks in Costa Rica.  All rooms feature king size beds but the bungalows are larger with a vanity area and wicker seating furniture. The restaurant features all natural foods specializing in vegetarian and fresh juices (no soda allowed!).  There are also a variety of restaurants nearby. 

Day 6 – 7:  Free days to relax enjoy the beach, pool, spa services, yoga classes and surf lessons.  Nearby there are several local restaurant choices and the village of Nosara.  Optional guided tours are available at additional cost including guided hiking, horseback riding, kayaking, sport fishing, sailing charters, canopy zip-line tour, Olive Ridley Sea Turtles Nesting tour (Ostional Wildlife Refuge), Barra Honda national Park and Caves, Las Baulas Marine Park and more are available upon arrival.  Overnight at Harmony Hotel.

Day 8:  This afternoon, you will transfer to the domestic airport in Nosara for the short scenic flight back to San Jose.  Upon arrival, you will transfer to the Hotel Grano de Oro for overnight. The remainder of the day is free to explore the city or do some last minute souvenir shopping.

Day 9:  This morning you will transfer to the international airport for departure.
