Luxury Adventure (Adults Only):
Day 1: Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica, you will transfer to the Finca Rosa Blanca Country Inn in Heredia for overnight. This is an intimate hotel set above the Central Valley surrounded by coffee plantations with excellent views of the volcanoes and city. Each suite is unique and features fine local woods and pieces from the owners’ extensive modern art collection. The Inn is renowned for its fine cuisine, prepared with bounty from its own fruit orchards and organic vegetable and herb garden. Unwind by the hillside swimming pool for stunning views morning, afternoon and evening.
Day 2: This morning, you will transfer to the domestic airport in San Jose for a short flight to Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Peninsula. Upon arrival, transfer to Lapa Rios Rain Forest Lodge set up on a cliff overlooking the forest and the Gulfo Dulce. This is an upscale wilderness resort offering romantic bungalow accommodations with ocean view verandas and outdoor showers (also indoor bath). Lapa Rios is set on a cliff with stunning views so considerable stair climbing and mild “hiking” is a part of the lodge experience. Please advise if you have any physical limitations. Day 3 – 4: Free days to explore the virgin rainforest at Lapa Rios reserve. Additional optional activities include horseback riding, sea kayaking, shore fishing, hiking to a nearby beach and tours of the reserve with naturalist guides. Overnight Lapa Rios Rain Forest Lodge.
Day 5: This morning you will transfer to the Puerto Jimenez airstrip for the short flight to the Quepos / Manuel Antonio area. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the Gaia Hotel and Reserve - A luxury boutique beach 5 star hotel and resort member of "Small Luxury Hotels of the World". Day 6: Manuel Antonio National Park Private Guided Hike: Let an experienced nature guide take you on an informative hike through beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. Though the main attractions of this park are its two beautiful beaches – Espadilla Sur and Manuel Antonio – it also protects coastal rainforest, a mangrove swamp, coral formations and 12 islands that serve as seabird sanctuaries. Your guide will teach you about the park’s distinctive plant life and point out some of the resident fauna, which includes 109 mammal species, such as capuchin and squirrel monkeys, agouti and three-toed sloth – and 184 species of birds. Day 7 – 8: Free days to relax at the beach or plan day trips. Manuel Antonio National Park contains three of the country’s most beautiful beaches and casual trails that wind through the rainforest where it grows to the water’s edge. Other attractions and tours include hiking with naturalist guides for wildlife observation, adventure canopy tour, sport fishing, sea kayaking, mountain biking, ATV tours, Dolphin Watch boat tour, horseback riding, bird watching, Butterfly Farm Tour, exploring the Isla Damas Estuary by kayak or boat, Rainmaker Reserve and suspension bridges, Sunset Sailing and whitewater rafting. Guided excursions at additional cost can be pre-booked or arranged upon arrival. Don’t forget to visit the fun shops and restaurants in the old United Fruit Company town of Quepos. Day 9: This morning you will transfer to the domestic airport in Quepos for the short scenic flight back to San Jose. Upon arrival, transfer to the San Jose International Airport for departure.
