Exclusive Getaway

Day 1:  Upon arrival in San Jose, Costa Rica, you will transfer to the Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation and Inn in Heredia for overnight. Nestled in 10 acres amid hundreds of fruit trees and dramatic tropical flora, the enchanting inn is a jewel crowning a picturesque knoll. Situated above the beautiful Central Valley, surrounded by towering “Higuerón” trees and exotic flora, the Inn offers spectacular views of volcanoes, cloud forests and coffee plantations. Here at 4000 feet above sea level on a temperate plateau of extraordinary beauty, is grown some of the world’s best coffee in the lush volcanic soil. The Inn is renowned for its fine cuisine, prepared with bounty from its own fruit orchards and organic vegetable and herb garden. Unwind by the hillside swimming pool for stunning views morning, afternoon and evening.

The Inn offers two extraordinary master suites, and eleven elegant yet whimsical junior suites, four of which can be united to form two spacious villas. Each suite is unique and features fine local woods and pieces from the owners’ extensive modern art collection. All of the luxurious rooms include Jacuzzi baths and mini bars as well as private verandas overlooking the lovely Central Valley and the volcanoes above.

Day 2:   This morning, you will transfer to the domestic airport in San Jose for the short scenic flight to Puerto Jimenez on the Osa Peninsula. Upon arrival, you will transfer approximately 45 minutes to Lapa Rios Rain Forest Lodge. Set in a private nature reserve spread over 1,000 acres of Central America's last remaining lowland tropical rainforest in Costa Rica, Lapa Rios overlooks the pristine point where the Golfo Dulce meets the wild Pacific Ocean, making it the destination that matches every one's idea of paradise.

This is an upscale wilderness resort offering romantic bungalow accommodations with ocean view verandas and outdoor showers. All 16 spacious thatched bungalows have an ocean view and are surrounded by the rain forest. Guests feel part of the outdoors as constant tropical breezes pass through screened window walls. Each bungalow features a private deck and patio garden, complete with an outdoor shower. Interior shower baths are tiled and two washbasins are set in Cristobel wood, matching the polished floors.

Lapa Rios is set on a cliff with stunning views so considerable stair climbing and mild “hiking” is a part of the lodge experience. Please advise if you have any physical limitations. Remainder of the day to explore the rainforest trails or relax at the pool. Overnight Lapa Rios Rain Forest Lodge.

Day 3 – 4:  Free days to explore the virgin rainforest at Lapa Rios reserve. Activities at Lapa Rios are focused around the rainforest and the nearby Ocean. Rainforest hikes, bird watching, Ocean Kayaking, horseback riding, catch and release sport fishing and surfing are some of the activities offered. Furthermore, guests can take massages, participate in Yoga classes, relax at the pool with a tropical cocktail or just take a nap in a hammock and maybe observe the birds, monkeys and other animals that come by.   For many guests, the highlight is a tour to Corcovado National Park by plane or a night camping in the jungle. Overnight Lapa Rios Rain Forest Lodge.

Day 5:  Today, you will transfer to the domestic airport in Puerto Jimenez for the flight (with a stop in San Jose) to Liberia. Upon arrival, you will transfer to the Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo, for overnight. On a slender Pacific isthmus, on the Northern Pacific Coast, fringed by gold-sand beaches, Four Seasons introduces Costa Rica’s finest luxury resort. Enjoy: Arnold Palmer-designed golf. Three infinity-edge pools. A tropically serene spa. Also explore dynamic eco adventures on land and at sea – orchestrated with famed Four Seasons perfection.

The 153 generously sized guest rooms and suites are imaginatively crafted with indigenous woods and stone finishes. Each room seamlessly blends indoor comfort with an outdoor terrace or balcony living area and mesmerizing views. Sliding louvered doors between sleeping and living spaces maximize privacy and invite the flow of fresh sea breezes. Residential-style furnishings and décor draw their inspiration from the natural surroundings: ocean, forest, sunshine and beach.

Well-defined work areas allow guests to remain productive, with up-to-the-minute technology for communication and entertainment, including high-speed Internet access throughout. Extra-spacious bathrooms are cool, airy and inviting, clad in marble and offering signature Four Seasons features: deep soaking tub, separate glass-enclosed shower, large double vanity and – in a separate alcove – WC with telephone. Some feature private outdoor showers.

The resort features several dining options including ocean vistas from Di Mare restaurant, casual tropical dining at Papagayo, and poolside dining under the sun and stars at Congo's.  Also featured are verdant decks surrounding the free-form pool, children’s play pool, children's and young adults' program, large fitness center and full-service spa… with treatments inspired by the tropics. A championship 18-hole golf course designed by Arnold Palmer is also one of the resort’s crowning jewels.

Day 6 – 8:  Free Days.  With two expansive beaches, Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica offers an enticing array of water sports daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Complimentary activities include snorkeling, windsurfing, boogie boarding, sea kayaking and outrigger canoeing. State-of-the-art sporting equipment is provided, along with instruction for all levels. For an applicable fee, world-class fishing, scuba diving, surfing and white water rafting are also available.  Guided tours are available at extra cost including Horseback Riding, Catamaran Cruise, Corobici Float trip, Adventure Canopy Tour, Wildlife Watching and Trail Ride, Arenal Volcano and Tabacon Hot Springs, Rincon de La Vieja National Park and Volcano, and Santa Rosa National Park.
